Artist BioNate Deezy (Rapper/Artist) and K-dub (Producer) founded the band Sons of Thunder ENT November 2010.  The two however, produced Nate Deezy’s solo project under the name Legit Beatz Productions which included the album “Another Poor College Kid”.  Sons of Thunder has now produced a 25 song mixtape called “Truth On Some Nonsense”, two original music videos to the single “I’m In The Sky” and “One Thing” (Psalm 27), and there latest project which is an EP entitled “Burning Ones” .The name “Sons of Thunder” refers to the disciples James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were noted as being called sons of thunder (Mark 3:17).  The account in Mark 10:35-44 shows their incredible boldness and foolishness in asking to sit at Jesus’ right and left hand in glory.  With the same boldness K-dub and Nate Deezy are set on asking the Lord for the heart of they’re generation to turn to Jesus.  By the grace of God, it is their commission to use music and entertainment in such a way that glorifies Jesus Christ and will reach the hearts of those who need healing, deliverance, and Salvation.  Their ministry to the church is to equip and disciple.  Their ministry to a non-believing world is to love and bring reconciliation.  ”We believe salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone, by grace through faith.  Jesus Christ was fully man, fully God, crucified, died, was bodily resurrected after 3 days, and is coming back.”Kevin Walter aka K-dub is a 19 year-old college student who was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston with a scholarship for Jazz Composition and Music Production.  Due to the price of tuition, however, he stayed in his home state, Ohio, and began attending Tri-C for their jazz and music production programs, because of the schools close partnership with Berklee. His initial love for music started in 6th grade when he took a trip to New York City and fell in love with jazz. He began learning piano from his grandfather, Don Walter, throughout his youth, and learned drums from age 13 from great drummers such as George Lawrence, Carl Allen, and Gregg Bissonette.  Once meeting Nate Deezy, his musical abilities spread into Hip-hop, rap and contemporary mainstream music.  Once the Lord took hold of him, the music he produced took on higher quality as his passion for glorifying Jesus became his focus.  He has two loving parents Kenneth and Patricia Walter and a sister named Kylie.  He also plans to mary his girlfriend, of one and a half years, Brittany Niger, in the near future.

Nate Slaughter aka Nate Deezy is 20 years old and is an employee of True North Ministry.  True North Ministry does outreaches, mentoring, and discipleship programs with imprisoned youth between the ages of 12-21.  Music and ministry have always been in his DNA.  His Father Ross Slaughter studied classical Piano and went on to seminary and is now a Pastor, his mother, Sheila Slaughter, also has a degree in music and is now a music therapist.  He has a sister, Jessica Slaughter, who is a middle school teacher in the Houston area.  Nate also has a wonderful fiance named Shelby Cox.  The two will be getting married on January 7th, 2012.

Nate wrote his first rap song at the age of 10 for a church talent show and has been in love with that style of music ever since.  There were periods of his life where he would stop rapping, and question whether the whole thing was just a phase.  But the Lord would continually bring it back into his life until finally he began taking music seriously at age 16 during his Junior year of high school.  The following year he went on to partner up with Kevin Walter aka K-dub.  That year instead of just playing on the school drumline together, they began to produce their own music.  Now they focus on making music that God can use to ignite a passion for Christ in this generation.

JeffyK

Jeff Kuelling aka JeffyK is the media specialist.  He’s been like a brother to Kevin and Nate for many years.  Jeff handles all live show media, as well as photo shoots and blogs.  At smaller venues he engineers and operates the lighting for their show set.  You won’t see  him on stage or hear him in the booth, but the work he does with Sons of Thunder is appreciated and goes deeper then music.  Jeff provides accountability, intercessory prayer, and most importantly is a partner in all the ministry that takes place “off the stage.”  The three are on the leadership of a ministry called Resurrection Night, which is a worship service for College age/highschool students, in Cuyahoga Falls, Oh (in the Akron Area).
